Ann Grand

I’m working on a new 3-year PhD studentship in Open Science Public Engagement, which aims to explore ways in which open science and public engagement can be brought together in an innovative – and hopefully fruitful and exciting – way, using projects happening in the Bristol Robotics Laboratory as case studies. My supervisory team is Dr Karen Bultitude, Dr Clare Wilkinson and Prof. Alan Winfield.
One of the projects I hope to use is the Artificial Culture Project. Its Open Science website can be found here.
I would like to thank EPSRC for its generous support of the project.
I started my working life as a biology teacher and although I left teaching after ten years, continued to be passionate about communicating the excitement and exhilaration of science. I took an Open University degree, following a range of science units. In 2003, I founded Bristol Science Cafe . I’m also a freelance editor (mainly science books).
