Welcome to our new Director!

Professor Alan Winfield has been appointed as Director of the Science Communication Unit for a three-year term beginning October 1st 2009. Alan was recently awarded a Senior Media Fellowship by the EPSRC and is taking on a wider responsibility for Public Engagement within UWE, Bristol.  As a long term collaborator and supporter of the Science Communication Unit Alan is well versed in its expertise and interests and will provide excellent high-level support both within UWE and externally.

New Science for Environment Policy website and archive

A new website for Science for Environment Policy has been launched. To view, please visit: http://ec.europa.eu/environment/integration/research/research_alert_en.htm.

The new design makes it even easier for users to to access and navigate the ever growing archive of articles and special Thematic Issues, launched last year. There is also a new page which displays articles from the most recent issue of the news alert.
 
The environmental news alert, delivered weekly by email, is designed to help busy policy makers keep up to date with the latest scientific research relevant to key environmental policy issues. If you would like to receive the news alert, subscribe here.
